Kathryn Markey joins the lab

Welcome to our newest graduate student, Kathryn Markey! Kathryn completed her undergraduate education at Rowan University, earning a BS in Biology (Neuroscience concentration) along with a minor in Psychology, where she studied spatial learning and navigation in homing pigeons. She earned an MS in Biomedical Science at Drexel and subsequently entered the Biology PhD program in Fall, 2021.

She will be studying the postnatal development of cortical astrocytes. Stay tuned for new and exciting work that will shed new insight into fundamental astrocyte biology and understanding how the brain assembles the proper number and distribution of cells.
